Nassau County Museum of Art celebrates Louis Comfort Tiffany's work in art & design. Best known for his exquisite stained glass, Tiffany (1848-1933) created a cloistered glamorous world for himself in the midst of the Gilded Age. Laurelton Hall, the home he built in Oyster Bay in 1905, reflected his dramatic shift from the heavy, dark decor of the Victorian Era to a light-filled, exotic Orintalism that came to shape interiors & fashions for the rich & famous of his time. Tiffany's Art Nouveau world comes to life in this NCMA exhibition through paintings, sculpture, lamps, stained glass windows, furniture, fashions and tableaux of his fabulous interios.
