Artists On Film At The Pollock-Krasner House

Artists Make Movies: Experiencing the Moment
Fridays at 7pm This Year's series, hosted by film historian and art critic Marion Wolberg Weiss, explores diverse visual styles and themes in motion pictures by East End artists who will screen and discuss their work. From documentary films to computer animations, performance art and experimental videos, these artists use moving image to expand their creative horizons.

Sept 5 Gary Beeber, The Messenger(2006) 20 min and Bally Master (2007) 22 min
Take a ride with Kamikaze, New York City's legendary bike messenger and world class character, whose opinions on work, women and the meaning of life are decidedly offbeat. And enter to the bizarre world of scott Baker master of the Bally Stage at Coney Island, who performs his most outrages sideshow routines and offers insights into his unusual profession.

Sept 12 Anrea Cote, experts from the Faces Series(2003-05), Bodysite Performances (2004-07), and Cut (2007),40 min
Multi media artist Andrea Cte video in self contained installations as well as documentation and sometimes fuses the two. She will talk about her attraction to a medium that is immaterial and elusive, yet familiar and seemingly "real."

Sept 19- Carol Hunt Black Moon 1995-2007 30 Min
Hunts computer generated series of animated haiku, created over the past twelve years take sthe imagery of her abstract paintings to new spatial and temporal dimensions. Her Mesmerizing shapes and glowing colors saturate the senses.

Sept 26- Christina Maiwald Thread Head (2005) 12 min, War Babies (1992) 6 min
Maiwald uses deceptively charming needlework to comment provocatively on social, political, and culrural topics.
