Works by photographer Tina Barney, Sculptor Donna Rosenthal and painter Aya Uekawa are featured feminine image, an examinition of issues such as social acceptance, fasion, beauty, conformity and individuality. Using clothing, jewelry and posture , Barney's works subtly convey the aura of privileged insider status. Rosenthal uses intricately wrought metals bedecked with typographic banners to comment on social aspirations , such as the quest for wealthy husbands and beautiful homes. In her exquisitely painted portraits, Uekawa adorns her female subjects in resplendent but entirely imaginary jewelry, hairstyles and clothing.
