History of Hosting Major Sporting Events

Long Island has a rich history of hosting major sporting events. The tremendous support and enthusiasm among government, university, business, recreation and hospitality leaders has enabled the Commission to bring sporting events of every type to Long Island.  Long Island has become the destination of choice for virtually any sporting event.  Here’s a brief sampling…
