LONG ISLAND GEARS UP FOR FUN-FILLED SUMMER SEASON; NEW
LICVB&SC WEBSITE HIGHLIGHTS LONG ISLAND’S MANY ATTRACTIONS
HAUPPAUGE, NY-(May 25, 2005)- From sparkling beaches, historic mansions, great museums, and spectacular golf, to cultural events, wine-tasting vineyards, shopping, festivals and fairs, Long Island has a broad serving of summer fun planned for visitors to the area.
And now the LICVB&SC’s newly re-launched website at www.funonli.com provides several new features that make it even easier to find information on creating a memorable visit to Long Island.
The funonli.com homepage features stunning visuals from many scenic vistas on Long Island and an easy-to-read map. A calendar of events provides up-to-date information on the many exciting events occurring Island-wide.
Also new to the site is the “Request a travel guide” feature; a fast, easy way for Long Island visitors and residents to receive the newest, all inclusive Long Island Travel Guide.
The re-launched website also provides visitors to Long Island information on What to do; Where to stay; How to Get Here. Those sections lead into links where in-depth information on specific destinations, including hours and contact information; places to stay, including a list of amenities and contact information; and driving distances from different points are all posted.
The new LICVB&SC website provides visitors planning their next trip to Long Island a highly efficient tool for navigating through all that Long Island has to offer, for business or pleasure.
The Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau and Sports Commission (LICVB &SC) was established in 1979 as a marketing arm for the destination’s nearly $5 billion travel and tourism industry. Based on Long Island in Hauppauge, NY, the LICVB & SC contributes to the economic development and quality of life on Long Island by promoting Long Island as a world-class destination and by attracting individuals, tours, meetings and conventions, trade shows, sporting events, related activities and business to Long Island.
