Re-Launched Website Helps Promote Long Island Sites
HAUPPAUGE, NY- (June 08, 2005)- Residents and visitors to the area will want to take a look at the Long Island Convention and Visitors Bureau & Sports Commission’s (LICVB&SC) new 98-page Long Island Travel Guide and the Bureau’s newly re-launched website.
The free travel guide makes it easy to find information about Long Island’s parks, museums, beaches, amusements, historical sites, gardens, shopping and special events. Also available free is the Long Island Calendar of Events-Summer 2005, featuring a listing that highlights many of the wonderful fairs, festivals, unique events and performances this summer on Long Island.
Since the Long Island Travel Guide is now available as a “Click here to order” option on the LICVB&SC’s newly re-designed website, www.funonli.com, and at the LICVB&SC’s two Long Island visitor centers, and by calling 1-877-FUN-ON-LI, it is offered to more potential visitors than ever before.
The recently re-launched web site, www.funonli.com was developed to be more dynamic, engaging and interactive than the previous site, with added ease of navigation through extensive cross-referencing. This allows visitors to find and access information through a variety of ways and means – by region, county and special interest.
The Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau and Sports Commission (LICVB &SC) was established in 1979 as a marketing arm for the destination’s nearly $5 billion travel and tourism industry. Based on Long Island in Hauppauge, NY, the LICVB&SC contributes to the economic development and quality of life on Long Island by promoting Long Island as a world-class destination and by attracting individuals, tours, meetings and conventions, trade shows, sporting events, related activities and business to Long Island. For more information about Long Island, please contact the Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau and Sports Commission by calling 1-877-FUN-ON-LI or visit the web site at http://www.funonli.com.
Featuring high quality imagery and descriptive editorial content, the Long Island Travel Guide is produced by Island Publications, with input from the LICVB&SC.
