LICVB&SC TAPS BRIDGET DUNWELL FOR SALES MANAGEMENT POST

HAUPPAUGE, NY -(September 20, 2005)- The Long Island Convention and Visitors Bureau and Sports Commission (LICVB&SC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Bridget Dunwell to the position of sales manager.

In her new post, Ms. Dunwell will work with Peggy Murphy, senior convention sales manager in the Meetings & Conventions department, with a focus on driving overnight visitation to Long Island and developing the association, pharmaceutical and domestic travel trade business. She will also work to accommodate group tour business with the Tour & Travel department.

“Ms. Dunwell joins the LICVB&SC with extensive sales and hospitality experience in the corporate group market and we believe she will be a tremendous asset assisting the Meetings & Conventions department in its efforts to increase overnight visits to Long Island,” said R. Moke McGowan, president of the LICVB&SC.

Ms. Dunwell gained many years hospitality experience serving in various positions at CapStar Hotels, a major hotel management firm, including general manager at The Inn at Medford and director of sales & marketing at Holiday Inn at Tinton Falls, NJ.

The Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau and Sports Commission (LICVB&SC) was established in 1979 as the official tourism promotion agency for the destination’s nearly $5 billion travel and tourism industry.
